Supreme Court Rejects Challenge To ACA’s Individual Mandate.
Reuters (1/13, Hurley) reports that the US Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear another challenge to the Affordable Care Act. The high court rejected an appeal filed by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons and the Alliance for Natural Health USA. The groups had challenged several aspects of the health law, including the individual mandate provision.
The Hill (1/13, Ferris) reports that the plaintiffs’ argument against the individual mandate “had been rejected twice before: first by a district court judge in 2012 and then by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals in March 2014.” The Hill adds that the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons “has aggressively fought the Affordable Care Act since its passage, staging rallies around the country and filing multiple legal challenges.”
