ACA Report and Obama Poll
Report: ACA Has Led To Reduced Worker Hours.
The Hill (11/13, Hattem) reports in its “Regwatch” blog on a report from the Chamber of Commerce and the International Franchise Association that finds that the Affordable Care Act “is already causing businesses to reduce their workers’ hours, more than a year before the measure goes into place.” The employer mandate requires all employers with more than 49 full-time employees to provide health insurance or pay a fine. The report found that “Nearly a third of franchise businesses [and] 12 percent of nonfranchise businesses said they have reduced their workers’ hours because of the law.” The Washington Times (11/14, Howell) also reports on the study.
Poll: Half Of Voters Think Obama Lied About Existing Coverage.
FOX News (11/13, Blanton) reports that a Fox News poll found that “Half of voters believe President Obama ‘knowingly lied’ when he repeatedly told Americans they could keep their plans under his signature health care law.” There was a strong partisan divide in the results: “Seventy-nine percent of Republicans, 51 percent of independents and 22 percent of Democrats believe Obama knowingly lied to get the law passed.”
